SHOW GARDENS

MJ Garden Projects, Elgin entering her garden, ‘Harmony’.  Monika’s garden is a journey through the seasons and largely inspired by the symbol yin/yang which is the beginning and end of everything.  Monika aims to show the harmony in changes; in cycles of life.  Angled paths leading from each corner to the centre of the garden move through the colour spectrum flower bed that frames the middle path.  This entry is being supported by Threaplands Landscaping.

Michelle Walker and her team from The Vinery, Banff enter the garden ‘Unity Mind Body Soul’.  This design aims to create a sustainable and biodiverse mini food forest with a medicinal and sensory herb garden to provide stimulation for those with sensory deficits in addition to providing a tranquil environment for a peaceful space to restore and replenish mental health and well-being.  This garden is being supported by Snowdrops.Me

Viktoria Szilvas is designing her ‘Garden of Peace’.  Viktoria  brings a peaceful and relaxing area giving a sense of escape using cooler colours and soft flowing lines to engage light, fragrance, insects and birds, while having the illusion of seclusion from potentially overlooking neighbours.

Sisters Jo and Sally Mackenzie of Alba Roots bring us their ‘Triskele Edimental Garden’.  They bring a drought tolerant, low maintenance garden with a mix of edibles and beautiful pollinator friendly flowers.  Based on the Triskele Celtic symbol representing the motions of life, progress, cycles and revolution.  Triskele also represents earth, water and air.  The underlying principle being adaptability, especially with climate change causing unpredictable weather patterns.  This garden is being supported by Greens Nurseries.

Garden Rejuvenation submits the ‘Raising a Child With Down Syndrome’.  Julie-Ann’s garden is inspired by the first 14 years of bringing up her daughter, who has Down Syndrome, as a single working mother.  The planting style, structure and palette of this very personal design hopes to reflect some of the emotions, and challenges faced by them through to the recent brightness and joy they have finally found together.
