1          EXHIBITORS

1. The prizes offered for exhibits in this schedule are open to all persons complying with the terms thereof & with these rules.
2. Entry fees are £5 per entry with no maximum entry & no additional Show entry ticket need be purchased. No fees required for Under 18s.

2          EXHIBITS

1. Floral Art classes plant material need not be grown by the exhibitor, but must be arranged and staged by the exhibitor in accordance with the Floral Art Supervisors guidelines within the Floral Art marquee with the exception of exhibitor’s from schools.
2. Exhibitor’s from schools must arrange their exhibits under the supervision of a delegated supervisor during school time and be transported to the Floral Art Marquee by their delegated supervisor

3          ENTRIES

1. Exhibitors can only enter one entry to each class.
2. Entries on the form provided should be posted or emailed to the Show organiser as soon as possible, but not later than 2000 on the Sunday prior to the Show (Sunday 7^th June 2026. Email entries MUST have an address & phone number)
3. The Organiser reserves to herself the right to refuse any entry.
4. An exhibitor who is unable to stage an entry should advise the Organiser as soon as possible.

4          EXHIBITORS CARDS

1. These should be collected from the Floral Art Marquee Supervisor, each exhibit to have one card which will be placed the name downwards.

5          STAGING

1. The show will be staged & judged in accordance with the NAFAS Rule competitions manual fourth edition 2023s. Exhibitors must follow the direction of the Floral Art Marquee Supervisor regarding staging.
2. EXHIBITORS SHOULD ENTER THE SHOW GROUND FROM THE MAIN SHOW CAR PARK. EXHIBITORS CARS MAY BE UNLOADED AT THE FLORAL ART MARQUEE, BUT THEY MUST BE MOVED TO THE CAR PARK IMMEDIATELY AFTERWARDS.
3. ALL EXHIBITS FOR THE COMPETITION MUST BE STAGED ON THE THURSDAY PRIOR TO THE SHOW, BETWEEN 1600 & 2100. ALL EXHIBITORS MUST BE OUT OF THE FLORAL ART MARQUEE BY 2100.

6          JUDGING

1. Only officials will be allowed in the Floral Art Marquee during judging.
2. Judging will take place between 0900 & 1100 on the Friday of the Show.
3. The decision of the judges shall be final on the relative merits of the exhibits, but the Organiser reserves to herself the decision on any other points of dispute.
4. Any exhibit which is not according to schedule will be disqualified.

7          PROTESTS

1. Protests or complaints must be lodged in writing to the Organiser by 1300 on the Friday.

8          TROPHIES

1. A ‘Best in Show’ trophy will be awarded at the judges discretion, selecting from all three classes.
2. A ‘First’ trophy will be awarded to the Juniors; this trophy does not need to be returned.
3. The trophies are insured by the North Scotland Garden Show against all risk anywhere in the United Kingdom, and the Organiser must be notified in writing immediately in the event of any trophy being damaged, lost or destroyed.
4. TROPHIES SHOULD BE RETURNED TO THE ORGANISER NO LATER THAN ONE MONTH BEFORE THE DATE OF THE FOLLOWING SHOW.

9          PRIZE MONEY

1. Prize money will be paid by bank transfer on the Monday immediately after the Show.

10        REMOVAL

1. All competitors are responsible for removing their own waste & litter 1) on completion of their exhibit & 2) on down manning after the show has ended
2. Exhibits may be removed only AFTER 1600 & BEFORE 2000 on the Saturday of the Show.
3. The Organiser will not be responsible for exhibits not collected by 2000 on the Saturday.
4. The Organiser will not be responsible for loss or damage to exhibits.
5. EXHIBITS MUST NOT BE REMOVED BEFORE 1600 ON SATURDAY.

FLORAL ART

An exhibit is composed of natural plant material, with or without accessories, contained within a space as specified in the Show schedule.  All measurements are approximate.  Exhibits must be free standing.  The background will be the white wall of the marquee and table cloth is white.  NAFAS Rules state that disqualification will take place for the following reasons:

• Failure to comply with any specific requirements of a class as stated in a show schedule, e.g. the measurements or components.
• Inclusion of any fresh plant material that does not have roots or the cut ends of stems in water or water retaining material. (For exceptions see the NAFAS Competitions Manual).
• Inclusion of artificial plant material (unless specifically allowed by a show schedule)

For further details & definitions, please refer to NAFAS Competition Manual, Fourth Edition 2023 in accordance with which all classes will be judged.

OTHER THAN THE JUNIOR CATEGORIES, ALL EXHIBITS MUST BE ASSEMBLED AT THE SHOW

JUNIOR FLORAL ART OPEN TO INDIVIDUALS UNDER 18 YEARS ON STAGING DAY

1. All exhibits are to be displayed in the Floral Art Marquee while the Supervisor is present between 1500 & 1800 on the Thursday before the Show or between 0700 and 0830 on the Friday of the Show.
2. All exhibits are to be compiled under the supervision of a preregistered adult.
3. An exhibit is composed of natural plant material (i.e. fresh, dried or preserved), with or without accessories. Artificially coloured plant material may be used where appropriate
4. All fresh plant material is to be in water or water retaining substance (moss, succulents, lichen, fruit & vegetables excepted).
5. Exhibits must be free standing & will not occupy a space more than 60cm wide. The bench is approximately 76cm deep.
6. Exhibits must not be removed before 1600 Saturday 13^th June 2026
